'He's the One!' Blooming Kelly Brook tells of love for Thom Evans

The world was stunned when Kelly Brook announced last year she was expecting a baby with boyfriend Thom Evans after just three months of dating.

But while Kelly has admitted the pregnancy wasn't planned, she insists she wouldn't change her situation for the world, and is thrilled to have found 'the One' in former rugby player Thom.

Kelly's revelations come as she shows off her pregnancy curves in a tight leopard-print swimsuit as incredibly muscular Thom struts his stuff in the background of the exclusive shots taken in Portugal for Hello! magazine.

Kelly, 31, told the publication: 'That is what happens when you are in love - you surrender to whatever is to be. It wasn't a plan, but if it happened, it happened. We were boyfriend and girlfriend.'

And in her first interview since announcing the pregnancy, Kelly said the couple have been inseparable since meeting in a London nightclub last November.

She said: 'We have spent virtually every day together ever since. There was no game-playing, which is why I think our relationship progressed so quickly, because we haven't had to deal with egos.

'I love Thom and Thom loves me. We love being together. It is as simple as that.'

Kelly's confidence in her relationship with Thom comes after splits from actors Jason Statham and Billy Zane as well as Thom's former teammate Danny Cipriani, from whom Kelly split last summer.

But model Kelly said she knew instantly that Thom was 'The One'.

She said: 'I immediately felt he was The One, and I have never felt that before. That has something to do with my age. I didn't want to waste my time with someone I wasn't sure about - it was Thom.'

And while her pregnancy might not have been planned, Kelly says she always knew having a family with Thom was a part of her future.

She explained: 'This baby is not the result of me suddenly becoming broody because I have hit my 30s. It is simply that I have met someone that I am happy to share that responsibility with.' 

Kent-born Kelly has been in Los Angeles since the start of January, working on a number of modelling assignments and campaigns, including coming up with designs for a new maternity range for high-street chain New Look.

Former Scotland international star Thom is a former teammate of Kelly's ex Cipriani. He joined Kelly in the U.S. shortly after they met and has been taking acting classes.

Evans played for the London Wasps with Cipriani from 2004 to 2006.

However, the Zimbabwe-born sports hunk was forced to quit his career as a professional rugby player after he suffered a horrific spinal injury. He is now hoping to become an action movie star.

LOS ANGELES - BRITISH music superstar Elton John has revealed that he and his partner have chosen pop diva Lady Gaga to be their baby boy's godmother, as he spoke of his joy at being a father.

'Yes, yes she is,' John told ABC's Babara Walters when she asked him if the outlandish singer was the godmother of his son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, in an interview broadcast late Friday.

'When you get to the real person underneath, there's a very simple New York girl who loves her parents. I love her to death and a lot of people said, 'oh, you know, that's crazy,' but they don't know her and we do.'

Zachary was born December 25 to a surrogate for John, 64, and his partner 48-year-old Canadian filmmaker David Furnish, and the couple told ABC of their delight in having a son, and their determination not to spoil him.

'I knew I'd feel joy but it was the most relaxing thing that's ever happened to me,' John said. 'We change him, we bath him, we feed him and we read him a story every night,' said John of the couple's routine. 'And we take him to lunch.' But the millionaire singer said he was determined his four-month-old would learn about values, even though he was being brought up in the lap of luxury.

'The worst thing you can do to a child, and I've seen it happen so many times, is the silver spoon,' John said. 'Being the child of a famous person is very difficult and we're very well aware of the pitfalls of that.' -- AFP

Lohan was taken from a Los Angeles court by sheriff's deputies officials at the end of a preliminary hearing on a jewellery theft charge.

Lohan was earlier ordered to stand trial in June on a reduced, misdemeanor charge of stealing a US$2,500 (S$3,086) necklace in January.

But the judge on Friday ruled that the jewellery incident was a probation violation and sentenced her to 120 days jail and 480 hours community service.

Lohan's lawyer said she would file an immediate appeal. -- REUTERS

HONG KONG - THEY'RE a long way from being the next Spice Girls or Pussycat Dolls, but five Asian women are hoping to take the world by storm in what is being billed as the first pan-Asian girl band.

Blush is made up of five girls from the Philippines, India, China, Japan and South Korea who beat hundreds of other pop star wannabes during a talent search across Asia last year.

After surviving weeks of gruelling training and an elimination process, the five are ready to make a big splash on the music scene - both in the East and the West - as they prepare for the release of their first single in May.

'We are hoping we can get global and touch everyone's heart out there with our music,' Alisha Budhrani from India told AFP in a recent interview as she took a break from dance practice in a Hong Kong studio.

'For us we are really happy that all of our countries can come together through music and we could go out there to show the diversity of Asia, how wonderful it is as a whole.'

'We got real different cultures, languages, dialects and (there are) all kind of crazy things going on in Asia,' said a self-assured Alisha, breaking into laughter with the other four girls, aged between 18 and 28.

The group's bid for superstardom may be a long shot, but they have been supported by an A-list of Los Angeles-based producers who have worked with top names like Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce. -- AFP

Mariah Carey will be on "The X Factor"

Mariah Carey is going to have a role on the American version of "The X Factor," Simon Cowell has revealed.

The former "American Idol" judge confirmed during a radio interview that Carey will be involved in his import of the British singing competition.

Cowell shot down rumors that Carey is set to be one of the judges, citing her pregnancy, but he did share this:

"I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows," he told radio personality Jackie Brown. "I met her recently and she was on great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with. She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."

So far, the only judge that has been confirmed for the new version of "The X Factor" is former Island Def Jam Records chairman LA Reid. Other rumored judges include Cowell's ex "Idol" counterpart Paula Abdul, singer Jessica Simpson and British star Cheryl Cole.

Pussycat Dolls star and "Dancing with the Stars" winner Nicole Scherzinger is reportedly being considered as a potential host, according to The Huffington Post.

Auditions for "The X Factor" are currently under way. The show is set to premiere in September on Fox.

Aishwarya Krishnaraj Rai was born on 1 November 1973 in Mangalore. Her father Krishnaraj Rai was a marine engineer and her mother Vrinda Rai is a writer. She has an older brother Aditya Rai who is in the merchant navy. He also happened to co-produce Dil Ka Rishta in 2003, which starred Ash. The family moved to Mumbai where she studied at the Arya Vidya Mandir and later moved to Ruparel College. She was aspiring to study architecture but that did not take off while her career in the glamour industry took off.
Ash won the coveted Miss World crown in 2004. Soon after this she pledged to donate her eyes after her death. She went on to become the brand ambassador for brands like L’Oreal, Pepsi, and Coco Cola. She struck a pose for many international magazines like TIME and was also voted one of the most attractive and influential women by several polls. She is the first Indian actor to be part of the jury at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. She has appeared in The Oprah Winfrey Show, Late Show with David Letterman, and 60 Minutes. She was also the first Indian actress to be replicated in wax at Madame Tussaud’s Museum in London.

She was briefly involved with actors Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi before marrying actor Abhishek Bachchan, son of the iconic Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. They were married in 2007. The couple have acted together in many movies. They were seen in the latest Lux ad and have been roped in to be part of PETA’s Lovebirds campaign.

Aishwarya began her career in the film industry with a Tamil film Iruvar in 1997 which was a hit as opposed to her Hindi film Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya with Bobby Deol. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her next Tamil film Jeans, which was also an entry to the Oscars. In 1999, she gained recognition in Bollywood with hits like Taal and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, in which she played opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, her role as Nandini fetching her the Filmfare Best Actress Award.

In 2000, her Tamil film Kandukondain Kandukondain, saw a good turnout. She took on the role of Shirley, Shahrukh Khan’s sister in Josh and then played his love interest in Mohabbatein which won her a nomination for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. In Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, she played Preeti Virat, a rape victim and was considered for the Filmfare Best Actress Award. The year 2001 was a quiet year for Ash.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas (2002), in which she played Paro with Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, was an instant blockbuster. It also received a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival. She won the Filmfare Best Actress award. In 2003, she acted the part of Binodini in a Bengali film Choker Bali which was based on a novel by Rabindranath Tagore. The film was nominated for the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival.


The year 2004 saw Ash in her first English film, Gurinder Chaddha’s Bride & Prejudice, an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. Her performance as Neerja in Rituparno Ghosh’s Raincoat was praised. This was followed by her second English film in 2005, The Mistress of Spices, with Dylan McDermott of The Practice fame. Her dance sequence Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Babli became one of the most popular tunes of the year.

She had two films out in 2006. Umrao Jaan with Abhishek Bachchan failed to do well while Dhoom 2 where she played Sunehri and shared a ‘controversial’ liplock with Hrithik Roshan was a big hit. In 2007, she played Sujata opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Guru, based on the industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani and it was successful. Provoked, which was based on a real episode of domestic violence, won critical acclaim. The other English film, The Last Legion, did not do so well.

Jodhaa Akbar, released in 2008, in which she acted the part of Jodhaa Bai with Hrithik Roshan was average. The sequel to Sarkar, Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj, in which she plays a CEO alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, is said to be one of her best performances till date.

In 2009, Rai looked her gorgeous self in The Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin.

She was also busy shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan with Abhishek Bachchan and Endhiran with Rajnikanth in 2009. Both movies will be released in 2010 along with Action Replay with Akshay Kumar and Guzaarish, in which she will play Hrithik Roshan’s nurse.

Kareena Kapoor Refuses Saif Ali Khan for Aamir Khan

Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor has decided to shoot for Aamir Khan’s film rather than finishing boyfriend Saif Ali Khan’s Agent Vinod, which is running behind schedule. The actress is busy until the end of June, although she still has some important action sequences to shoot for Agent Vinod. This forced the Agent Vinodteam to put the film’s shooting on hold.

A source tells us, “Kareena has allotted her dates in April, May and June to Reema Kagti’s film, with Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee. Despite the fact that Agent Vinod has been delayed many times over for various reasons and now is in its last stage of production.” The source further added, “Most of the shooting is over. But there are still songs and sequences that require VFX. And yes, a schedule with Kareena is pending. But she’s busy with another film. So, we’ll just have to wait.”

When one wonders why she didn’t give priority toAgent Vinod over Kagti’s film, Sriram Raghavan (director of Agent Vinod) quickly rises to his leading lady’s defense, “She was committed to the other film from some time. But that’s okay.  Saif and I will be busy with other scenes until she becomes free. I also have a couple of visual-effects scenes to put into place.”
